Happens.city is an independent event-discovery guide. We collect public event details from official venues, theatres, museums, cultural institutions, community calendars, organizers, and established ticket providers. The goal is not to mirror every listing on the internet; it is to make promising plans easier to compare.
How events are selected
Listings are evaluated using source confidence, completeness, timing, location, ticket information, and relevance to the experience someone requested. A nearby community event and a major touring production can both belong, but the extra travel should be obvious. That is why cards label longer drives as road trips or overnight possibilities.
Duplicates and showtimes
The same event often appears on a venue calendar, an organizer page, and a ticketing service. We group likely duplicates into one event and preserve links to the underlying sources. Multiple performances on the same day may be shown together so a theatre run does not overwhelm the list.
Verification and corrections
Event pages show when information was last checked and link to an official listing or ticket source when one is available. Schedules, prices, age rules, and availability can change after publication, so confirm the final details with the organizer before buying tickets or traveling.
Recommendations and advertising
Event order is independent from advertising. Sponsored placements and Google-served ads are labeled and visually separated from event recommendations. Aggregate interactions can help improve future ranking, but sponsors cannot pay to appear as an organic event pick.
